3Rotary Screw Air Compressors
- ELGi's electric oil lubricated rotary screw air
compressors are designed to encapsulate all
functional components of the air compressor
within a standard housing. With a small
footprint, high reliability, and low maintenance
requirements, these screw type air compressors
are ideal for industrial applications where size,
efficiency, and cost matter. The industrial
rotary screw compressor ensures efficient and
reliable performance. - ROTARY SCREW COMPRESSORS
- Rotary screw compressors are a type of air
compressor that utilizes two helical screws to
compress air. Compared to other types of air
compressors, they are energy efficient, quiet,
and reliable, which makes them an ideal choice
for professional and industrial applications.
There are two types of screw air compressors
- oil lubricated screw air compressors and oil
free screw air compressors. - HOW ROTARY SCREW AIR COMPRESSORS WORK?
- Rotary Screw Compressors are available in two
technologies- oil lubricated rotary screw air
compressor and oil free rotary screw air
compressor. An oil lubricated rotary screw
compressor is used in industries that require
large volume of air. The oil free rotary screw
air compressors are used in sensitive industries
which have to comply to strict adherence to
safety standards such as food and beverage,
pharmaceuticals, etc.
4Rotary Screw Air Compressors
- ADVANTAGES OF ROTARY SCREW COMPRESSOR
- Rotary screw compressors offer several advantages
over other types of air compressors, including - Energy Efficiency
- Screw type compressors are energy efficient
because they utilize positive displacement
technology. This means that they can compress air
more efficiently than other types of compressors,
resulting in lower energy consumption and reduced
operating costs. - Continuous Operation
- Rotary screw compressors can operate continuously
without the need for shut-off and have no duty
cycle. This means that they can run for extended
periods with little to no downtime. These rotary
compressors are continuous duty cycle
compressors. - Low Maintenance
- Rotary air compressors have few moving parts,
which reduces wear and tear and minimizes
maintenance requirements. Long service intervals
reduce maintenance costs and make routine checks
and repairs quick and hassle-free.
5Rotary Screw Air Compressors
- WHY SHOULD YOU CHOOSE ELGI'S ROTARY SCREW AIR
COMPRESSOR? - There are many benefits in running a rotary screw
air compressor. In the appropriate applications,
rotary screw compressors are more reliable and
energy efficient that reciprocating compressors.
Rotary Screw compressors require simple
maintenance, consume less oil, and delivers
higher quality air. Noise levels are
significantly lower with a rotary screw
compressor creating a more comfortable work
environment. Pattons offers our customers with
the highest quality in rotary screw compressors
with the ELGi EN and EG Series. - TWIN SCREW AIR COMPRESSOR TECHNOLOGY
- The working principle of a screw air compressor
is based on positive displacement. The compressor
uses two meshing helical screws, also known as
rotors, to compress air. The screws rotate in
opposite directions, with the male rotor driving
the female rotor. As the screws rotate, the air
is trapped between the rotors and the compressor
housing, and the volume of the air is reduced.
This compression process increases the pressure
of the air, which is then discharged through the
outlet port. - There are two types of rotary screw compressors
oil-injected and oil-free. Oil-injected screw
compressors use oil to lubricate the rotors and
provide a seal between them, which prevents air
leakage. Oil-free screw compressors, on the other
hand, do not use oil and rely on other sealing
methods, such as dry-running or water injection.
