4
SCOPE
  • 450 Photographs, many full page. 571 detailed
biographies of blues singers. Over 600 pages of
    facts that include festivals, concerts,tours,
clubs, bands, theater shows, radio television
    shows,films,recordings,songs and much more. All
pseudonyms are cross-referenced. Coverage of all
blues eras and styles from acoustic to electric,
rural to city, juke joints to Las Vegas, country
    to rock, male and female.

5
INTENDED PURPOSE
  • An attempt to present a detailed listing of each
singers career credits in chronological order,
while consolidating the present body of blues
knowledge into an accessible and concise
reference source. Information came from many
    sources.
  • Blues lovers, writers and anyone looking for info
    on their favorite artists.

6
CURRENCY
  • Published in 1981 book is not up to-date on the
newest and latest artists , but to a real blues
lover who is mostly interested in the roots of
blues and the older artists, that will not matter.

7
Format.Hardcover paperback
  • PERSONAL IMPRESSION.I though I would really
love this book and I did enjoy the pictures but
some of the biographies were difficult to read
because of the way they were written. Even
with that I would recommend this book to a blues
    lover.

8
REVIEW.Barnes Noble
  • Rarely has a book received such unanimous praise
as the Blues Whos Who. Eighteen years of
research and writing, most of it done by Sheldon
Harris alone, has produced a reference book that
has been accepted in the U.S., England, and
Europe, as truly indispensable for anyone
seriously interested in the history of
    country,city, folk, and rock blues.
