Project Goal

• The goal of this project is to investigate the
  optimal cell property variations across the
  cardiac wall to get the most uniform contraction
  of the left ventricle. We will be varying
  parameters such as the peak stress and the twitch
  duration independently or as a combination of
  parameters to find the most uniform contraction
  possible.

Progress

• Continued learning about programming in python.
• Wrote the python script that opens and reads the
  hemodata file, and finds the beginning and end
  of ejection from that file.
• Submitted poster to present at e-Research Centre
  e-XPO week at Monash University.

Short Term Goals

• Continue working on the python script
• To read the ejection strains for the beginning
  and end ejection time points.
• To calculate the ejection strain for each mesh
  node.
• To calculate its average and standard deviation.
• Start running Continuity script on Nimrod.
• Prepare presentation for next Wednesday, August
  20th.

Successes

• Submitted poster to e-XPO.
• Relabelled left ventricle wall nodes and added
  fields on the cardiac model.
• Wrote a python script that opens and reads the
  beginning and end of ejection.
• Have Continuity6 working with the east-lin
  cluster.
