  theoriginal without using quotation marks.
• Rearranging the sentences of the original

• Failing to cite the original work.

How to avoid plagiarism?

• Place quotation marks around all directquotes
  when taking notes.
• Make sure that paraphrases are paraphrases,not
  just substituting a few words or phrasesor
  rearranging words or sentences.
• Compare paraphrases with the original textto
  make sure paraphrases are distinctlydifferent
  from the original.
