    initiative Community Partners Program (CPP).
    Nationwide application and assessment process.
  • Funding organisations representing CALD
    communities to raise capacity of residential or
    community services to provide culturally
    appropriate care.
  • Sponsored 4 programs in SA including Helping
    Hand Aged Care Inc, (APAC) Asian Partners in Aged
    Care program.

Helping Hand Aged Care Inc
  • As a South Australian not-for-profit
    Organisation our mission is to provide an
    innovative and broad range of residential and
    community based services, enabling the best
    feasible quality of life for older persons.
  • Our mission and philosophy of care reflects our
    key objective which is CHOICE.

Metro North Division
  • Comprises 3 Residential Facilities (Parafield
    Gardens, Mawson Lakes and Ingle Farm) and
    Community Based Programs (Transition Programs,
    Home based Services, Respite Carer Support)
  • The APAC (Asian Partners in Aged Care Program)
    operates from within our Parafield Gardens
    Residential Facility which provides residential
    care for 100 residents, with 100 staff and
    supported by 65 Volunteers.

Asian Partners in Aged Care
  • This innovative and exciting alliance between
    Helping Hand, local SE Asian Communities and
    Multicultural Aged Care commenced in Dec 2005.
  • The APAC Program has been supported by CPP
    funding and successfully operating for 18 months.

Shared Goals and Visions
  • To assist older persons (65) from local
    Cambodian, Laotian, Vietnamese and Filipino
    communities discover, explore and access aged
    care services.
  • To raise awareness and capacity of residential
    and community based services in the provision of
    culturally sensitive aged care services.
  • To ensure that Residential Aged Care meets the
    needs of older persons from within identified
    CALD Communities.
  • To provide Cultural Specific training and develop
    resources to increase staff capacity to provide
    culturally sensitive care.
