Aerospace Education
  • Learn and apply principles of air and space
    science
  • Model Rocketry, Aviation, Aerodynamics, Physics
    of flight
  • Tour advanced technology facilities and meet
    experts

Aviation
  • Ten free orientation flights in the front seat of
    an airplane or glider, with an experienced pilot,
    and your hands-on the controls
  • Opportunity to attend Flight Academy and earn
    your Pilots License at reduced cost!

Emergency Services
  • Search and Rescue for missing persons or
    airplanes
  • Disaster Relief for Earthquakes, Tornadoes,
    floods, etc.
  • Train for qualification and participate in actual
    missions

Homeland Security
  • Assist in providing security for possible
    terrorist targets by reconnaissance, patrol, and
    communication with law enforcement
  • Provide support in response to terrorist attacks

Cadet Program
  • Learn and practice military discipline, respect,
    and teamwork
  • Wear the USAF uniform
  • Advance in rank and responsibility through
    testing and duty performance
  • Maintain a drug free and physically healthy
    lifestyle

Honor Guard
  • Public performance in parades, ceremonies,
    demonstrations
  • Compete in State, Region, and national cadet
    competition

Requirements(Cadet member)
  • At least 12 years old, and not yet 19
  • Enrolled in school with a satisfactory academic
    record (C average or better)
  • Not married
  • Not a member of Active Duty US Military
  • US Citizen or Legal Resident
  • Have good moral character (no illicit drug use,
    or criminal record)
  • Have no previous dishonorable discharge from CAP
  • Be approved by the squadron membership board

Local Squadron
  • Central Missouri Composite Squadron
  • Columbia, Jefferson City, Fulton, Ashland, and
    surrounding area
  • Weekly Meetings
  • Tuesdays 700-900 p.m.
  • Columbia Regional Airport
  • Weekend Activities
  • Once a month, local or statewide

Application Process
  • Attend a unit meeting and pick up prospective
    member packet and membership application
  • Complete and turn in the membership application
    by the deadline
  • The Membership Board will review all applications
    and select new members
  • If you are selected, membership dues will be
    collected and you will be notified when to report
    for the first of four Tuesday meetings of Basic
    Cadet Training
  • At the end of Basic Cadet Training, you will
    graduate, and join the rest of the cadets in the
    Squadron as a cadet Airman Basic.
