  • Each student receives an e-mail account.
    firstname.lastname_at_washburn.edu
  • Washburn faculty, staff, administration, and
    offices use this e-mail for official
    communications.
  • It is critical that you check your Washburn
    account regularly.

E-mail Details
  • You have 15 MB storage.
  • Pictures and other multimedia consume excessive
    memory- consider archiving them elsewhere.
  • Maximum size of attachments 8 MB.
  • If you go over storage quota, your account is
    disabled.
  • May need to forward to gmail (Google E-mail)

E-mail Trash Folder
  • E-mail default setting saves your deleted mail in
    the trash folder and quickly fills up your
    mailbox.
  • Change the settings so the trash folder will
    empty each time you logout.

Resetting Password
  • Go to http//my.washburn.edu and reset your
    password.

  • ACCESS Get access 24/7 to the law school. Simply
    swipe your card and enter the last 4 digits of
    your SSN.
  • CASH Add money for copies, vending machines,
    cafeteria, bookstore.
  • LIBRARY RESOURCES Check out books and access
    library databases from off campus.
  • DISCOUNTS Several local businesses offer
    discounts to students carrying the iCard.

  • You must have automatic updates turned on in
    Windows XP.
  • You must have commercial quality virus
    protection. We recommend eTrust.
  • Do NOT leave YOUR LAPTOP unattended anywhere!

Law Drive
  • Virtual drive that allows you to open and edit
    server-based files without the additional
    download step.

Why use LAW DRIVE?
  • Accessing files from home is easy.
  • Simply install Law Drive on your home computer,
    and use Law Drive installed on the lab computers
    here.
  • Backup important documents.
  • Each student is allocated 64 MB of storage space.
  • Back up important documents first.

Saving documents to the server is as easy as
using the Save As function in any Windows
application.

Installing Law Drive
  • Must have Windows to operate.
  • Requires a Unix password. Go to the Computer Help
    Desk Window, Room 100 Bennett Hall to get your
    Username and Password.

Free Printing?
  • Printing costs the law school close to 20,000
    per year.
  • Printing is free to law students. Lets keep it
    that way!
  • Avoid excessive and unnecessary printing.
  • Printers default to duplex (double-sided).
  • Please dont take blank printer paper!
  • LexisNexis and Westlaw have their own printers
    and paper.
