Title: EuroSim roadmap

1
EuroSim roadmap
  • Robert de Vries, Dutch Space
  • 6 November 2006
  • EuroSim Workshop ESTEC

2
Overview
  • IRIX/MIPS support
  • SMP2 improved support
  • Test Supervisor Light
  • 64 bits Linux
  • Scilab/Scicos support
  • Integrate Mosaic in EuroSim
  • Improve C99 support
  • Support more Linux distributions
  • Future releases

3
IRIX/MIPS support
  • SGI has announced that it will stop selling
IRIX/MIPS based systems by the end of 2006
  • This means that the market for the IRIX/MIPS
version of EuroSim will cease to exist
  • Maintenance contracts on existing EuroSim
licenses will continue as long as required
  • Long term solution is to migrate to Linux based
    systems
  • Not all device drivers are available on Linux
    (i.e. VMIC-5576 Reflective Memory card)

4
SMP2 improved support
  • Assembly
  • Dynamic model loading (i.e. managed models)
  • SMP2 Schedule file
  • Package support
  • Follow ECSS standardization of SMP2 interface

5
Test Supervisor Light
  • Strictly speaking a EuroSim add-on
  • Allow coordination of simulator and various other
    test facility elements
  • Includes system database
  • Scripting facilities for automatic test execution
  • Modular architecture, easy to add interface
    modules
  • Runs on low-cost hardware (Linux PC)
  • Open-Source tool based
  • Compatible with SCOS-2000
  • Easy to install and use
  • Standards based (PUS TM/TC, EGSE harmonization,
    XML file format)

6
64 bits Linux version
  • Runs on EM64T architecture (AMD Opteron, Intel
    Core 2 Duo, etc.)
  • Not Itanium

7
Scilab/Scicos support
  • Scilab/Scicos is a Matlab/Simulink open source
    clone
  • Tailoring of code generation of Scilab/Scicos for
    EuroSim (similar to MOSAIC)

8
Integrate MOSAIC into EuroSim
  • Make MOSAIC an integral part of EuroSim
  • Single point of contact for customers
  • Full integration of code generation into EuroSim
    rules
  • Tailor RTW TLC files to EuroSim

9
Improve C99 support
  • C99 extensions that are not (yet) supported
  • Complex data types
  • Variable length arrays
  • Designated initializers
  • Mixed declarations

10
More Linux Distributions ?
  • Fedora Core 6
  • SUSE Linux 10
  • Concurrent RedHawk Linux

11
Future releases
  • Mk4rev1
  • Java support
  • Linux 64 bits
  • Various other minor features and bug fixes
  • Release date Q1 or Q2 2007 (EuroSim application
    project driven)
  • Mk4rev2
  • Enhanced SMP2 support
  • Release date TBD
