How does the Pitcher Plant survive?

• adapted to survive in poor soils. To adapt to
  survive in poor soils, they are designed to catch
  and digest animals (usually insects).

• It attracts bugs by a fragrant scent and as it
  lands on the plant which makes the poor insect
  slip and fall into a chamber of doom.
• In this chamber is juice(about pH3.2to4.7) which
  dissolves the bug.
• Soon its carcass falls to the bottom of the
  plant.
