Life Cycle

• Mate spring to early fall in cold climates.
• After a month gives birth.
• When eyes are closed can smell with noses.
• Usually stay close to mother.

• Alaska
• North America
• Gulf of Mexico
• South of Atlantic Ocean
• Right across the Pacific Ocean
• Europe and Asia
• Burrows,nests,rivers,banks and others
• It gets nests from abandoned ducks nests

• Dig mussels

• Beneath the mud
• Nursing milk

Adaptation

• Smell
• Strong smell
• Use there tail to swim
• They paddle with their feet
• They steer with their tail
• Good simmer can swim away from predator
• Good swimmer can get prey
• Muskrats are about 12 inches long(30cm)long
• Weigh roughly 2 to 4 pounds(1 to 2 kg)
• Have thick brown fur
• Can stay under water for 12 minutes

• Called muskrat because they have musk glands that
  produce strong scent
• Dont hunt tell open season
