  • Vision The Suborbital and Special Orbital
    Directorate (SSOPD) (Code 800) is committed to
    further scientific, educational and economic
    advancement by providing the facilities and
    expertise to enable frequent flight opportunities
    for a diverse customer base. To that end, all
    SSOPD employees respect, appreciate, and value
    individual differences, which help up capitalize
    on the strengths of a diverse workforce to better
    perform our mission through teamwork and
    innovation.

  • General/frank discussions about quality of
    worklife and environment at Wallops.
  • Refocusing to current needs at WFF.

    discussion.
  • Expanded membership.
  • Changes to meeting format and location.

  • Mid-point evaluations held in July 2002.
  • Seven (7) of 11 pairs elected to continue beyond
    6-month program.
  • Closing program on December 13th.

  • Collaborative effort between Code 820, Balloon
    Projects Office, New Mexico State University and
    PSL to improve Education and Career Opportunities
    for Minority Students focusing on Sub-Orbital
    Science and Engineering.
  • Dedication 4/24/02.
  • Will aide New Mexico State Students, K-12
    students and teachers in local and outlying
    areas.
  • Includes Co-op opportunities at WFF.
  • Balloons, Sounding Rockets, and UAV of prime
    importanceDryden is also evolving some UAV work
    supported there.

  • Training opportunities and QWL issues will be
    high priorities of the detail.

  • Morning Coffees will continue last one was well
    attended, significant interaction in conjunction
    with American Heritage Week.
  • Center Directors Colloquium held at Wallops in
    conjunction with American Heritage Week. Mr.
    David DeNotaris was guest speaker. A Center
    Directors Colloquium was also held March 2002.
    Mr. Brian Holloway was guest speaker.

    diverse talent pool can be reached.
