Program Completeness
Compute completeness based on observable planets
that have not yet been observed
Determine if star is available for observation
Generate orrery of planets
Start
repeat up to 3 years
next week
Parameters for 10,000 pseudo planets
Determine stellar visits and observation time
based on efficiency threshold optimization
Eliminate planets that are observed with visit
eccentricity
phase
inclination
End

Optimization
  • Optimization removes least efficient integration
time for a given star so that we may observe
    other stars in the program.

Comp
  • We optimize by varying the Efficiency Threshold
Cutoff (ETC) and keeping the set of stars with
the largest Total Accumulated Completeness in a
    given optimization period.

time
  • We perform this optimization for the stars that
are available every three weeks over a three year
    period.

TPF-C Baseline Parameters
Corresponds to 4?/D with an IWA increase due to
the elliptical PSF
Includes 3 rolls and 3 dithers

6
Circular Elliptical
  • The major difference between circular and
elliptical apertures is that we need 3 rolls
positions, each with a dither, for the elliptical
aperture and only 1 roll position and 1 dither
    for the circular aperture.
