Why? Girl Power

• It is my ultimate goal as the principal of Parma
  Senior High School to assist our students to
  develop the necessary skills to become effective
  leaders, positive contributors to society, and to
  instill the empowerment of life long learning.

What is it?

• Girl Power is a year-long Leadership Academy
  for high school students consisting of grades
  nine through twelve. 30 females are currently
  participating in the program. The middle school
  guidance counselors and the middle school
  building principal recommend twenty-five freshmen
  into the program each year. All students have the
  option to participate in the program throughout
  their high school career. Student can also apply
  to participate in the program if they are not
  recommended at the middle school level by
  completing an application.
• Based on current participation, students come
  from various economic and social statuses. Some
  students are athletes, some come from single
  parent homes, some students are considered at
  risk, some students have attendance issues, some
  students have an IEP, and some students are on
  the honor roll. The academy truly consists of a
  salad bowl of personalities, academic abilities,
  and backgrounds.

• 1. Complete Application
• 2. No out of school suspensions in previous or
  current marking period
  
• 3. (1)teacher recommendation letter
• 4. Complete Parent Permission Slip and
