  • There will be a pass-through search from our
    web-catalog on December 1

  • Loan period 6 weeks
  • Short loan period 3 days
  • No renewals
  • Potential increase in borrowing
  • More requests to ILL
  • Additional processing steps longer turn around
    time

  • Patrons ability to track requests

  • Visiting Patron software not available in the new
    Summit
  • Visiting Patrons from other institutions need to
    be adopted by the UO
  • PUA software not available in the new Summit
  • UO patrons will be adopted by other institutions

Shut down plan
  • 11/20 all regular loans from the old system
    will be due 12/12
  • 12/12 all items due back by close of business
  • By the end of December all items from the old
    system will be checked in from patrons EVEN IF
    THEY ARENT BACK.

But I liked the old Summit
  • Change hard constant
  • Acknowledge the difficulty
  • Moving backwards?
  • Admit that there are still some bugs
  • Also mention that work continues and developments
    are underway.
  • Dont say I dont know rather Let me get
    someone who understands the new system to help
    you

Im really frustrated, angry, this is stupid..
  • How should you deal with the patrons who are
    unhappy about the new rules or changes?
  • Refer patrons who really need to vent to Library
    Administration, Room 115, Knight Library or
    346-3056.
