• Lessons learned from TRMM should be applied to
  GPM
• TRMM GV/AlgDev did not interface well enough
• What worked, what didnt?
• What are the applications?
• Satellite products
• NWP
• Data assimilation
• Hydrology
• What minimum set of products is necessary to
  validate the applications?
• Should avoid a laundry list of un-needed GV
  products
• Recommend that we combine output from WG2/WG3 to
  provide a useful/detailed list of needed/desired
  GV products.
• Develop a template of GV products that Users need

Incentives to do GV for free

• GPM is a good thing

• Validate applicability of products to local area,
  etc.
• Scientific exchange
• International collaboration
• Adddesses solid precip, light rain, over-ocean
• Life and property (extreme weather events)
