Students who are involved in STLP at Dixie
Elementary Magnet School stay very busy all
year.

• They participate in several activities.
• Produced the morning news show
• Participated in the Lego Robotics program
• Entered the Doodle for Google contest
• Created movies using Microsoft Moviemaker

• Students produce the morning news show.
• Each student is assigned a different job each
  day.
• They might be running the camera, broadcasting
  the weather or working on the credits.
• Each group works one week, coming in the morning
  before school starts.

They create the title, introduction and
credits for the show on a computer each morning.

They learn all about using a digital video
camera.

They research the daily news and the daily
weather.

Then they present the information on the air
throughout the school.

They work as a team to present the show to the
whole school.

This year, STLP students entered the Doodle for
Google contest for the first time. They each
created a doodle with the Google logo that
represented their wish for the world.

They used the Google trademark and modified it.

Heres two examples of the Google Doodles they

STLP students participated in the Lego Robotics
project this year. They have worked hard learning
to create a robot and then programming it to
perform certain tasks.

Dixie STLP students also learning all about
Microsoft Moviemaker this year and had fun
creating several movies.

As you can see, Dixie STLP students stay pretty
busy. And they are still learning new things all
the time!
