God Mode
3
Getting Started
Modes of Play 1. God Mode
  • Sculpt mountains, gouge valleys, and seed forests
to lay the groundwork for your creation.
  • Drop a disaster anywhere in your city--set
buildings ablaze, pelt your metropolis with
meteors, unleash a twister, or wreak havoc with a
    volcano.
  • Populate your terrain with animals that graze and
roam and sometimes stampede into your city!

Modes of Play 2. Mayor Mode
Allows you to develop zones for your Sims to
live, work, and shop. Use this for Zone Tools,
Transportation Tools, Utility Tools, Civic Tools,
and Emergency Tools.
Mayor Mode
5
Getting Started
Modes of Play 2. Mayor Mode
  • Create, build and run the most realistic city you
    can imagine.
  • Connect your metropolis with other cities you've
created to form a massive region of SimCities,
each sharing and competing for resources.
  • Deploy police cruisers and fire trucks to the
scene--youre up close and part of the action as
they deal with fires, striking mobs, crime, and
    more.

about their neighborhood and city. Use this for
specific development and information on your job
as Mayor.

7
Getting Started
Pre-City Planning 1. Choose a Region
You can create your own region or you can load a
pre-made region.
8
Getting Started
Pre-City Planning 2. Choose a City
For Future City, it is highly recommended that
you start with a Medium City.
Medium City
Small City
9
Getting Started
Developer Types and Occupancy
Classifications for every Sim and Residential,
Commercial, or Industrial (RCI) building. All
Sims affinities, aversions, base education, base
life expectancy, and tendencies toward
criminality are applied with a Developer
Type. Residential, Commercial, or Industrial
Buildings are associated with one developer type.
Choose a development type with the corresponding
type of demand. Buildings are populated with
various Sims with various Developer Types, but
can change based on occupancy. Demand is based
on the desire for structures, not zones. Zoning
will not satisfy demand if the wrong structure is
built.
10
Getting Started
