  trendy. In some churches today, people are
  delving into exotic teachings and coining new
  terms including spiritual fathering, apostolic
  alignment, armour bearers, heave offerings. Any
  new believer who wanders into our meetings will
  need a translator.

• The original apostles are unique.
• Ephesians 2 indicates a continuity of function.
• Rev 22 refers to false apostles at the end of
  the first century AD.
• Mth 2818-20 is an apostolic commission,
  revealing Gods heart for the church and nations.

• Our caution at talk of apostolic alignment,
  government etc can easily be filtered through
• a. our own experience of when it has gone
  wrong.

  congregational church government.

CONTEXT

• Written to Gentile Christians
• One in Christ - no distinction
• - no discrimination
• Gods desire is to have a mature, powerful church
  
• To do that, He has to have a church that is
  united and well led

PRINCIPLE

• Apostles are GIVEN to the church
• Apostles do not take the place of Jesus Christ in
  a sons life
• Apostles do not exercise some weird or devious
  control
• Alignment is always about achieving vss 12/13

POSITION

• Not POSTIONEERING (I am of Paul, I am of Apollos)
• Is alignment with someone in their anointing,
  gifting, call and authority (John 519), (2 Kings
  1015,16)
• Relational (2 Cor 108,13-16)

• I am identified completely with the vision
• Im empowered within the confines of apostolic
  authority
• I walk in the blessing of unity of purpose and
  direction, which causes God to command His
  blessing

PROHIBITION

• Its vital that we are aligned with the right
  people.
• Ephesians 2 and I Cor 4 give insight into the
  limits on apostolic

• 2 Kings 10 warns us not to
• a. Mistake zeal for God as necessarily
  anointing from God
• b. Be impressed with authority and disregard
  character
• c. Settle for visitation only instead of
  habitation
