governments and a need for technology transfer.
  • ? Partnerships with technical suppliers for
    technology transfer and training.

predicted. Government investment in the next 3 to
5 years will lead to the deployment of 45,000 to
50,000 km of network cable (Ortel).
  • Local governments are expected to increase their
investments in technology by of 10.1 in 2005

DEMO CENTER SOLUTIONS
  • VoIP / PSTN gateway is a VoIP/phone network
link. This service proposed by AIC provides
communications by the minute, optimizing the cost
    of communications.
  • iPBX PBX using an IP protocol. The iPBX is a
software solution installed on servers or
    integrated through Class-5 softswitches. iPBX
services can be based either on a local server
or hosted. These telephony platforms are designed
to be interoperable with VoIP/PSTN links.
  • Shared security Platform proposing the following
    services high Firewall availability,
anti-viruses for e-mail and file servers,
    anti-spam, content scanning and Intrusion
Detection System (IDS). These services are
directed by the Network Operation Center team and
are activated according to the individual needs
    of every customer.

20
DEMO CENTER SOLUTIONS
  • Streaming Video comprised of products and
services that allow companies to fully implement
digital media, for the creation and swapping of
audio files, video et multimedia through the
Internet as well as through the companies
    network. Financial services, healthcare
companies, high-tech companies, etc can enhance
    their communication network, improve their
productivity and reduce their costs with
    streaming video.
  • VLAN by customer / VLAN by building end user
traffic (can either be from multi-tenant units or
from hotel rooms) is separated on the LAN from
other types of traffic. Subscription services are
    offered on a VLAN base.
  • Virtual Private Network is a technology that
allows shared network resources over a public
network that has little or no security. This type
of network is typically the Internet and it is a
means of connecting cheaply over long distances.
    VPN products provide technology for
authentification and security through user names
    and passwords.

21
DEMO CENTER SOLUTIONS
  •
  • Subscriber gateway service capable of supporting
thousands of concurrent users network access
control is by subscription (Subscriber gateway
service ). It is a high performance platform
developed for large telephony deployments like
hotels, airports and conference venues. An
automatic redirect intercepts a users http
request and resends it via secure dedicated site
requiring authentication by user name and
password. Several redirect levels (pre, during
and post) open multiple possibilities for
marketing and personalization. The gateway is
compatible with several billing systems including
credit cards, fixed fee access cards (similar to
telephone cards), and monthly charges. This
service also supports roaming among subscribers.

22
DEMO CENTER SOLUTIONS
  • WiFi enterprise is a flexible communication
system that allows the WiFi network to act as an
extension of a traditional VLAN. Access points
connect users directly to their VLAN. Access
points use the SSID/VLAN connection to offer
users a connection that is equivalent to that
which they would have if connected directly to
their VLAN. This service, with its excellent
coverage indoors and outdoors, offers users a
    true mobile service.
  • Hot-Spot WiFi is an area covered by a WiFi
network. Generally, WiFi hotspots are used in
hotels, meeting rooms, conference rooms, etc.
Sign-up and login happen via re-direct to a web
portal linked to the network access system
    (service gateway) which registers wireless
network users in the billing database.
