3NSBE International Ambassador Program
- Founded in 2005 after the Boston Convention
- First International Ambassador Chair Ibibia
Altraide - Established to address international expansion
issues and concerns - To facilitate better international expansion
efforts - Establish and support NSBE international chapters
who exemplify the mission, vision, and goals of
NSBE - Aims to attract a large number of international
members, who have connections with their home
countries, as well as U.S. domestic study abroad
students

ROLE OF A NSBE INTERNATIONAL AMBASSADOR
- Act as a liaison between international chapters
and NSBE - Act as a bridge between local US chapters and
International chapters - Provide support for the IC in their assigned
chapters - Once potential chapters have been identified,
work towards chartering them - Help local chapters with membership, programs or
finance issues and/or refer to the appropriate IC
and NEB members - Provide regular monthly updates to the Regional
International Chairs and the IC regarding their
area of operation

QUALITIES OF AN EFFECTIVE NSBE INTERNATIONAL
AMBASSADOR
- Excellent communicator
- Personable, Honorable and Tactful
- Diplomatic, Diligent and Dependable
- Good at resolving conflicts
- Familiar with NSBE (mission, vision, etc.)
- Has a global perspective
- Passionate
- Utilizes resources well
- Alumni or Student member

FORMAT OF THE PROGRAM THIS YEAR
- Senior (Former and Active) Ambassadors assigned
to countries or regions within countries - Junior (New, former but less active, etc)
Ambassadors assigned to each existing
international chapter (not including existing
Canadian chapters) and all potential chapters
(including potential Canadian chapters). - There will be only 1 Junior Ambassador per
chapter - Ambassadors will all be formally introduced to
their respective chapters - Ambassadors will submit a plan of action for the
year

- Recognition at the Fall Regional Conference

APPLICATION PROCESS
- Notify IC Programs Coordinator (intl_programs_at_boar
d.nsbe.org) of interest in the position by
September 30, 2007 - Submit application, including a specific country
or chapters that you would like to be considered
for - Include other pertinent information that can
strengthen your application - If you submit a proposed chapter, identify the
ways in which you would assist in chartering that
chapter - If successful, you will be interviewed and
assigned to 1 chapter in the country you
identified for a one year volunteer term
