Young Ambassador of Virtue
3Young Ambassador of virtue project
- The Youth Ambassador of Virtue Project is
implemented into 3 phrases as follow - -First Pilot Project 76 primary schools from
each and every province across the country were
selected by the office of the National Primary
Education Commission (ONPEC), Ministry of
Education to participate in the pilot project in
1999. - -Second, After the success of the Pilot
Project, the first extension phrase was
implemented in the year 2000 by repeating the
process of the Pilot Project.
4Young Ambassador of virtue project
- At this phrase, the ONPEC helped to recruit
schools, not exceeding 20 schools from each
province, upon their willingness and readiness to
join the project which were about 1,300 schools.
In supporting the first extension phrase, the 76
pilot schools played important roles in looking
after and guiding the participation schools
nation-wide. - -Third, On 3rd May 2001, the Young Ambassador of
Virtue Project Committee has agreed to extend
the project into the third phrase by the
inclusion of 975 primary schools in order to
celebrate His Majesty the Kings 75 Birthday in
the year 2001

- To support the schools and to promote the
knowledge of the world affairs to students under
this project, Friend of the Young Ambassador of
Virtue was initiated by the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of Thailand who has invited Diplomatic
Corps and Consular Representatives in Thailand as
well as the Royal Thai Embassy/Consular
Representatives around the world, particularly,
the over-sea Thai Community to join the project
as Friends of the Young Ambassador of Virtue

- The matching of the Friend of the Young
Ambassador of Virtue with the 76 primary schools
under the pilot project has been undertaken
successfully. For example, students are more
confident to communicate with their foreign
friends on the regular basis by exchanging of
letters and notes moreover, they spent time
studied the paired country. Foreign friends
continued to give a moral support to these
schools which includes school materials, books,
computers and scholarship. As a result, schools
in the project built their connections and
networks with their foreign friend as well as

- As a result, schools in the project built their

the province and around the country. This network
help support the cultivation of moral conscience
and expansion of world visions to the young
students. - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry
of Education will continue to work closely on
this project with a firmly hope that the Young
Ambassador of Virtue Project will be a true
model of human resources development.

10Roving Buakaew Project
- Project initiated by the Foreign Minister to
listen to the voice of peoples from all walks of
life especially from the grassroots in provinces
along the borders of Thailand. This project
includes an informal and interactive forum
between Foreign Minister, who leads the team of
senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, and leaders of communities, public and
private sectors, NGOs, local journalists and
people in the province to discuss issues of
international affairs affecting their lives such
as Thai labors abroad, trading along the border,
tourism, etc.The aim of this forum is to voice
opinion of people and their problems in order to
collect first hand information to inform
authorities concerned and to be used in
formulating foreign policy in proper time.

- Meeting with Schools in the Young Ambassador of
Virtue Project
11Seminar on Foreign Affairs for Youths
- Aim at giving opportunities for students at
all levels of education to visit and learn about
duties and roles of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs and the Foreign Policy of the government
of Thailand - Main activities are visual presentations and
lectures which are adapted corresponding to the
level of audiences e.g. - - - 150 students from Uthaithani Kindergarten,
one of schools in the Young Ambassador of Virtue
Project, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
on 15th November 2001. - - Annual visit by the university student
participating in Chaiyapreuk Project of the
Office of Civil Service Commission to be given
lectures on duties and roles of the MFA as well
as Foreign Policy of the government of Thailand.
