competition. - The mission also includes generating a major
portion of revenue necessary to operate a

promote the Academy to the nation through

or intramural sport throughout the academic year.
There are - 27 men's and women's intercollegiate sports,
competing in the highly competitive Mountain West
Conference. - Furthermore, cadet-athletes enjoy some of the
best facilities available anywhere. The cadet gym
contains 12 squash courts 21 handball/racquetball
courts and nine basketball courts. There are two

gymnastics, wrestling, fencing, boxing, aerobic
fitness and judo rooms. - The 5.6 million field house, considered one of

hockey are uniquely serviced by a common press
box that overlooks both arenas. A spectator
concourse separates the two areas and serves as
access to the seating gallery for the indoor
track, ticket offices, gift shop and concession
stand. - Falcon Stadium, in one of the most beautiful

11Air Force Football Falcon Stadium
The pageantry at Falcon Stadium on game day is
among the finest in all of college football. The
pregame fly-bys and Wings of Blue parachute team
are among the favorites. Before every home game
the cadets squadrons march into Falcon Stadium as
part of the pregame festivities. Following the
march-on the cadets rush to the east grandstand
to take their seats for the game. After every
Falcon score, the cadets run to the field and do
one push-up for every point on the scoreboard.
At halftime, the Falconers take the field for a
special aerobatic demonstration by one of the
Air Forces 12 to 15 Falcons. Air Force has the
only performing mascot in the NCAA. Following
every game, win or lose, the Falcons join hands
in front of the band for the playing of the Alma
Mater. For service academy games, both teams
come together for each academys song.
