    collaboration means to most people

peer production we will harness human skill,
ingenuity, and intelligence more efficiently and
effectively than anything we have witnessed
previously. Don Tapscott and Anthony Williams

What does it all mean?
  • Technology continues to change the way we teach
    and learn.
  • We have to continue to evolve and not be afraid.
Connecting with our youth in a way they prefer
to connect is critical to our mission of
preparing our youth for the work force and higher
    education.
  • Free or Open Source solutions means we can take
advantage of the global collaboration environment
where knowledge and understanding is the focus.

9
What does it all mean?
  • Infrastructure Do we have the needed bandwidth
and network topology to accommodate increased
    demand?
  • Support Training must be online, on time, and
available at District and campuses. Discussion
and collaboration beyond the initial training is
    critical to identifying best practices.
  • The tool We have been using laptops and desktop
computers as well as mobile laptop carts.
Connecting to information, people, and resources
may mean we need to evaluate on a regular basis
how we connect. Is an iPhone type technology on
    the horizon for the classroom?
  • Teaching and Learning What is the role of
immediate feedback and social networking? How do
we keep the online environment safe?
  • Vision If the challenge is to prepare students
to compete in a global market, then we must stay
connected to both our youth and the global
effects of technology, information literacy, and
    global collaboration.
