General Facts and Figures
  • Latest statistics state 1 in 4 people will have a
    mental health problem within the course of a
    year.
  • 20 to 30 of all GP Consultations are about a
    mental health issue
  • 50 of all GP Consultations have a mental health
    element to the issue discussed.
  • 65 of people with a mental health problem will
    have experienced some form of discrimination.
  • Almost 50 will have been abused or harassed in
    public.
  • Official figures suggest that 14 of men and 20
    of women in England have some form of Mental
    Illness

    burden of illness in Britain
  • 1 in 6 of us will be diagnosed as having
    depression or chronic anxiety disorder, affecting
    1 in 3 families
  • 1 in 4 people with anxiety and depression do not

    mental illness
