3Man is a creature formed from the dust, he lives
by the life power of God
- Gen 27 And the LORD God formed man of the dust
of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the
breath of life and man became a living soul. - Ezekiel 1820 The soul that sinneth, it shall die
- Job 334 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the
breath of the Almighty hath given me life. - Luke 135 And the angel answered and said unto
her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the
power of the Highest shall overshadow thee
therefore also that holy thing which shall be
born of thee shall be called the Son of God. - Job 3710 By the breath of God frost is given
and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
4Man is a creature formed from the dust, he lives
by the life power of God
- Job 336 Behold, I am according to thy wish in
God's stead I also am formed out of the clay. - Job 273 All the while my breath is in me, and
the spirit of God is in my nostrils - Job 109 Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast
made me as the clay and wilt thou bring me into
dust again?
5When the life power of God is removed, man like
the beasts, returns to dust
- Psa 10425 So is this great and wide sea, wherein
are things creeping innumerable, both small and
great beasts. - Psalms 10429-30 Thou hidest thy face, they are
troubled thou takest away their breath, they
die, and return to their dust. Thou sendest forth
thy spirit, they are created and thou renewest
the face of the earth. - Job 3414-15 If he set his heart upon man, if he
gather unto himself his spirit and his breath
All flesh shall perish together, and man shall
turn again unto dust.
6When the life power of God is removed, man like
the beasts, returns to dust
- Ecclesiastes 318-21 I said in mine heart
concerning the estate of the sons of men, that
God might manifest them, and that they might see
that they themselves are beasts. For that which
befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts even
one thing befalleth them as the one dieth, so
dieth the other yea, they have all one breath
so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast
for all is vanity. All go unto one place all are
of the dust, and all turn to dust again. - Ecclesiastes 127 Then shall the dust return to
the earth as it was and the spirit shall return
unto God who gave it.
7Life as now possessed in not everlasting, but as
a vapour that soon passes away
- James 414 Whereas ye know not what shall be on
the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a
vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and
then vanisheth away. - Job 141,2 Man that is born of a woman is of few
days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a
flower, and is cut down he fleeth also as a
shadow, and continueth not. - Psalm 395 Behold, thou hast made my days as an
handbreadth and mine age is as nothing before
thee verily every man at his best state is
altogether vanity. Selah.
8The death State
- Ecclesiastes 95,6 For the living know that they
shall die but the dead know not any thing,
neither have they any more a reward for the
memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and
their hatred, and their envy, is now perished
neither have they any more a portion for ever in
any thing that is done under the sun. - Isaiah 3818-19 For the grave cannot praise thee,
death can not celebrate thee they that go down
into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. The
living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do
this day the father to the children shall make
known thy truth.
9The death state
- Psalm 497 None of them can by any means redeem
his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him
(For the redemption of their soul is precious,
and it ceaseth for ever) That he should still
live for ever, and not see corruption. For he
seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and
the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth
to others.
10God has condemned all men to death because they
inherit Adams nature and walk in his sinful ways
- Romans 623 For the wages of sin is death but
the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus
Christ our Lord. - 1 John 34 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth
also the law for sin is the transgression of the
law. - Genesis 317-19 And unto Adam he said, Because
thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife,
and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded
thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it cursed is
the ground for thy sake in sorrow shalt thou eat
of it all the days of thy life Thorns also and
thistles shall it bring forth to thee and thou
shalt eat the herb of the field In the sweat of
thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return
unto the ground for out of it wast thou taken
for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou
return.
11Man does not possess Immortality
- Men would not perish like beasts Psa.4914, 19-20
- Immortality would not only be for the righteous
Rom. 26-8 - Immortality would not be the gift of God Rom.
623 - Neither could immortality be now hidden with
Christ in God Col.33 - Immortality could not be said to have been
brought to light by Jesus and the Gospel 2
Tim.110 - Immortality would not be dependant upon belief in
Jesus Christ Jn.640 1125 316,36. - Paul would not have waited anxiously for the
redemption of the body Rom.823
