The Great Commission

• And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world,
  and preach the gospel to every creature. He that
  believeth and is baptized shall be saved but he
  that believeth not shall be damned.
• (Mark 1615-16)

He Said

• A commission is of no more consequence than the
  authority of the commissioner
• Christs authority is well established
• He created the world (the subjects)
• He owns us (the commissioned)
• He sanctioned the gospel (the message)
• He is the means of intended result (salvation)

Christ Has All Authority

• And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All
  authority has been given to Me in heaven and on
  earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the
  nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
  and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching
  them to observe all things that I have commanded
  you (Matt. 2818-20)

Go

• Go requires action
• It means we must leave the comfort of our homes
  and church buildings
• It compels us to remove hindrances that keep us
  from going
• Christianity is not practiced by sitting in pews
  but by going into the world.
• The commission is go not send

Ye

• Go ye means go me
• Whose job is it?
• Thats what we pay the preacher for
• The elders are responsible
• We support missionaries dont we?
• Until I have gone into the world I have not
  fulfilled my commission. No one can do it for me!

Into All the World

• The scope of our commission
• All the world begins at home then across the
  fence, street, town, etc.
• Not all can travel into foreign lands
• It is legitimate to send where one cannot go
• Sending missionaries helps to fulfill my duty to
  goit is not the extent of it

Preach the Gospel

• The message with which we are entrusted is a
  powerful one
• Nothing must hinder the preaching of the gospel
  (Luke 957-62)
• I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for
  it is the power of God unto salvation (Rom.
  116)

Every Creature

• for it is the power of God unto salvation to
  every one that believeth
• None are beyond the scope of the gospel
• Let us follow the path of our Lord
• He attended to the nobles
• He touched the untouchables
• The woman at the well (John 440-42)

He That Believes and is Baptized Will be Saved

• This is the gospel! Christ died to save a world
  from sin!
• The focus of our commission is the saving of
  soulsnot the growing of a congregation
• Baptism is an essential part of Gods plan. It is
  where we meet Christ!

• Or do you not know that as many of us as were
  baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His
  death? Therefore we were buried with Him through
  baptism into death, that just as Christ was
  raised from the dead by the glory of the Father,
  even so we also should walk in newness of
  life. (Romans 64)

He Who Does Not Believe Will be Condemned

• The horrible consequence of our failure to
  fulfill Christs commission
• Souls will be condemned to Hell!
• What if they do not obey the gospel?
• Each person must decide for ones self
• Our duty is to go preach
• He will say Well done
