- PT employees work at least 20 but not more than
30 hours per work - Eligible for pro-rated benefits like vacation,

that is the question - a person that is hired to fill a position for a
permanent employee who is still on payroll and
using paid leave - can use teacher assistant if LEA has policy but
changes the pay

- Hiring retirees subject to the income cap
- Open to all employees
- Earnings limitations placed by the Retirement
System - Cap is higher of two figures
- 23,600 adjusted each year,or
- 50 of the previous 12 months salary

- Hiring retirees exempt from the cap
- At present, open for classroom teachers only
- Must do no other work in the previous 6 months
other than substitute or serve as a part-time
tutor - Retains many of FT employee benefits
