- More than 1.7 million people take part in a
Church of England service each month. - More than 2.6 million people participate in a
Church of England service on Christmas Day or
Christmas Eve. - One in four primary schools in England are Church
of England schools.
4How did the Church of England begin?
- King Henry VIII founded this religion in 1534,
because the pope could not grant him a divorce
from Catherine of Aragon so that he could remarry
to Anne Boleyn. This caused the Reformation.
5Church of England Key Beliefs
- They believe there is only one God who is the
creator of Heaven and Earth. - Jesus is the son of God who was born, crucified,
died and was resurrected. - The Holy Bible is the word of God.
- They live their life according to the Ten
Commandments.
