Transportation Officers Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with CAPR 77-1
- Management control of vehicles to ensure
- - Vehicle Record Folders are up-to-date and
current. - - Scheduled routine maintenance is performed.
- - Major maintenance is performed when required.
- - Operator Daily Inspections are performed and
any vehicle discrepancies reported
expeditiously in order for repairs to be
performed.

- Monthly Time , Usage and Mileage Reporting is
Reported on Each Wing Vehicle and Submitted to
National by the 10th of the Month for Previous
Month (thru National Website) - Vehicles are
Cleaned Monthly and Waxed Once a Year - If Your
Unit is Assigned a Vehicle Please Ensure
Above Responsibilities are Followed and Work
with Your Wing Transportation Officer

Major Maintenance Reimbursement Procedures
- Planning is important! -Most repairs (tires,
brakes, shocks) can to planned for. -Plan ahead
, getting an estimate BEFORE repairs is
mandatory. -Fill out the Vehicle Rehab Request
and forward both it and the estimate to Wing LGT

Emergency Repairs
- Definition of Emergency Repair A Repair Needed
to Make a Vehicle Safe to Operate When vehicle is
Away from its Assigned Station. - Example Vehicle Breakdown on the Road.

Emergency Repair Procedure
- Telephone emergency vehicle breakdowns
immediately to the State Director or Wing
Transportation Officer. They will in-turn contact
HQ CAP/LGT for approval. - If unable to contact State Director or CAWG/LGT
contact HQ CAP/LGT directly. - Include the Following Information
- 1. Vehicle Id Number
- 2. Maintenance Problem
- 3. Repair Estimate (Vendor can Fax
Estimate) - 4. Callers Name
- 5. Vehicle Location

Emergency Repair Procedures
4. Must submit Rehabilitation Request and
original paid invoice to HQ CAP/LGT when repairs
are accomplished. Fax request and copy of paid
invoice for processing and mail original paid
invoice for reimbursement. 5. If emergency
occurs on weekend or after normal working hours,
telephone HQ CAP/LGT and leave a message on
answering machine. (Include 1 thru 5 on previous
slide.

6. Proceed with repair if cost is under 500. If
cost exceeds 500, contact HQ CAP/LGT the first
working day after the weekend to obtain approval
prior to repair. 7. Original paid invoice must be
mailed directly to HQ CAP/LGT within ten working
days.
