  are used up

  nonrenewable fuel.
• Heating Resources closing the shades and setting
  the thermostat at higher than 68 can conserve
  energy
• Cooling Resources setting the thermostat no
  lower than 78, cleaning the air filter, and using
  fans help conserve energy

• Compact florescent lights burn less energy than
  lightbulbs
• Use only lights that you need, turn them off when
  not in the room or use
• Keep the doors to ovens and refrigerators closed
• Air dry dishes and clothes
• Clean out the air filter

Efficient Transportation

• Hybrids are powered by gasoline and electric
  power
• Most vehicles are powered by gasoline or diesel
  fuel- a nonrenewable resource
• Biking, walking, using public transportation, are
  carpooling saves fuel
• Combine errands- go inside the bank or fast food
  to save the fuel from sitting in line
• Check tire pressure and get regular tune-ups

  personal and household items, cleaning, making
  minor repairs, and keeping household equipment in
  good working order.
• More successful if developed as a household
• Children should be given chores

Daily and Weekly Tasks

• Daily dispose of trash, care for pets, make
  beds, put away clothes and other belongings, care
  for dishes, wipe up spills and pick up items
  throughout traffic patterns
• Weekly vacuum, dust, change bed linens, clean
  bathrooms, wash floors, do laundry
• More work needs to be done with pets

  are cleaned better
