- The Teaching with Primary Sources Program builds
a consortium that fosters collaborations between
the Library of Congress and the educational
community to increase instructional use of the
Librarys digital primary sources. The
Teaching with Primary Sources Program contributes
to the quality of education by deepening content
understanding and improving student literacy in
our nations schools.

- Primary sources are the raw materials of history
original documents and objects which were
created at the time under study. - SECONDARY SOURCES
- Secondary sources are accounts or
interpretations of events created by someone
without firsthand experience. - AUTHENTIC USE OF PRIMARY SOURCES
- Using a primary source within an historic
context as a basis for inquiry and discovery.
