Tips on Writing Winning Grants
  • Select a small committee that will benefit from
    the winning grant
  • Ask for copies of previous winning grants
  • Review the curriculum standards for education
    grants
  • Include pre- and post-assessment strategies

Writing Techniques
  • Be clear and to the point
  • Catch the readers attention
  • Write in third-person
  • Select an interesting, appropriate title
  • Be liberal with spacing, sub-headings, and
    underlines. Limit sentences to 15 words and two
    commas per sentence
  • Follow the grants formatting guidelines to the
    letter
  • Always have someone review the grant draft prior
    to mailing
  • SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!
