students into the community to enhance and retain
academic retention efforts. The Community
Mentoring Program is a program that is
two-folded, the program gives City of Tempe
Officials the opportunity to serve as members to
Arizona State University students, and these
students serve as protégés to the mentors. - One of the goals of the program is to help
strengthen and broaden the relationship between
Arizona State University and the City of Tempe.
Based upon interaction with the City of Tempe
through serving on various boards and committees
I found it would be a positive, rewarding
experience to engage students in a positive
interaction with a City of Tempe Official. The
program provides students with the opportunity
for career exploration and development by
connecting them with a highly recognized City of
Tempe Official. Another goal of the program is to
allow city officials to have a positive
interaction with Arizona State University.
