  remember coming out of Egypt
• Killing of the lamb (The Sacrifice)

  remember this event
• Christ death eliminated that memorial
• Old law nailed to the cross, Col. 214
• Along with the 10 Commandments

The New Memorial

• 1st Cor. 57, Paul writes, Purge out therefore
  the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, as
  you are unleavened, For even Christ our Passover
  is sacrificed for us.
• CHRIST Is Our PASSOVER?
• Rom. 323, For all have sinned, and come short
  of the glory of God
• 1st John 22, he is the propitiation for our
  sins and not ours only, but also for the whole
  world.
• 1st Pet. 119, We are redeemed with the precious
  blood of Christ, as a lamb without blemish and
  without spot

The New Memorial

• Matt. 2626-29, Jesus took bread, and blessed
  it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples,
  and said, Take, eat this is my body. And he
  took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to
  them, saying, Drink ye all of it For this is my
  blood of the new testament, which is shed for
  many for the remission of sins. But I say unto
  you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of
  the vine, until that day when I drink it new with
  you in my Fathers kingdom.

Church (Kingdom) Established

• Matt. 1615-19, Jesus asks, But whom say ye that
  I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art
  the Christ, the Son of the living God. thou art
  Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church
  and the gates of hell shall not prevail against
  it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the
  kingdom of heaven
• Acts 21-4, Kingdom comes with power
• Acts 214-36, Peter uses the keys to the kingdom
• Acts 242, they continued steadfastly in the
  apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in
  breaking of bread, and in prayers.

A Weekly Memorial

• Early church met the first day every week
• Acts 205-7, Luke writes, upon the first day
  of the week, when the disciples came together to
  break bread, Paul preached unto them, until
  midnight.
• Waited in Troas to break bread on first day
• 1st Cor. 162, Upon the first day of the week
  let every one of you lay by him in store
• Early church followed apostles doctrine
• Acts 242, they continued steadfastly in the
  apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in
  breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Purpose of the Lords Supper

• 1st, A Memorial
• Luke 2219-20, he took bread, and gave thanks,
  and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is
  my body which is given for you this do in
  remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after
  supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in
  my blood, which is shed for you.
• Remember His Death, Burial Resurrection
• Remember He will return
• Remember He has gone to prepare a place

• 1st Cor. 1126, For as you take this bread and
  drink this cup, ye do shew the Lords death until
  he comes.
• A proclamation
• A statement by our actions
• Confirmation of faith, he will come again
• Heb. 116, without faith it is impossible to
  please him
• James 218, show me thy faith without thy
  works, and I will show you my faith by works.

Purpose of the Lords Supper

• 3rd, Spiritual Nourishment
• John 653-57, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
  Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and
  drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso
  eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath
  eternal life and I will raise him up at the last
  day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is
  drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and
  drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
  As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by
  the Father so he that eateth me, even he shall
  live by me.
• John 155, I am the vine and ye are the
  branches, He that abides in me, and I in him, the
  same brings forth fruit, for without me you do
  nothing

• Mark 1422, And they did eat, Jesus took the
  bread and blessed and brake it, and gave them,
  and said, Take eat this is my body.

• Unleavened bread, representing purity

• The Cup
• Mark 1423-25, And he took the cup, and when he
  had given thanks, he gave it to them and they
  all drank of it. And he said unto them, This is
  my blood of the new testament, which is shed for
  many. Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more
  of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I
  drink it new in the kingdom of God.

Who May Sit at His Table?

• Luke 2229-30, Jesus said, I appoint unto you a
  kingdom as my Father appointed unto me. That you
  may eat and drink at my table in the kingdom
• John 33-5, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
  Except a man be born again, he cannot see the
  kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How
  can a man be born when he is old? can he enter
  the second time into his mothers womb, and be
  born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto
  thee, Except a man be born of water and of the
  Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
• Only those who have been born of water

Who Else Are Not To Sit At His Table?

• 1st Cor. 1127-29, whosoever shall eat this
  bread, and drink this cup of the Lord,
  unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood
  of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and
  so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that
  cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily,
  eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not
  discerning the Lords body.

• Simplicity
• Erected anywhere with little expense or detail
• Timelessness
• Observed through the ages never grows old
• Enduring Nature
• Other memorials crumble, His never changes
• Universal
• Men women of all ages, from all nations observe
  His memorial with equal effectiveness and
  uniformity

Gods Plan for Entering the Kingdom

• Hear the Gospel
• Rom. 1017, Faith cometh by hearing and hearing
  by the word of God.
• Believe Jesus is the Christ
• John 824, if ye believe not that I am he, ye
  shall die in your sins.
• Repent of our Sins
• Luke 133, except ye repent, ye shall all
  likewise perish.

Gods Plan for Entering the Kingdom

• Confess His Name
• Matt. 1032, Whosoever therefore shall confess
  me before men, him will I confess also before my
  Father which is in heaven.
• Baptized for Remission of Sins
• Acts 238, Repent, and be baptized every one of
  you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission
  of sins
• Faithful unto Death
• Rev. 210, be thou faithful unto death, and I
  will give thee a crown of life.
