TO THE BOOK OF GENESIS!

BUT--THERE IS A 300 YEAR "GAP" BETWEEN THE CLOSE
OF GENESIS AND THE BEGINNING OF
EXODUS! AND--DURING THIS "GAP" ISRAEL GOES FROM
BEING THE "HONORED GUESTS" OF EGYPT TO BEING
A "SLAVE NATION"!

CONSIDER STEPHEN'S USE OF EXODUS 1. The
"exodus" was on a "timetable" a) Acts 717
"..when..time of..promise drew near.." 2. Moses
was preserved by "design" a) Acts 718-23
"Pharaoh's daughter took..." 3. Moses offered to
"lead" Israel a) Was Rejected--Acts724-28
"who made you?.." b) Needed More Training--Acts
729 "to Midian.." c) Was Recommissioned--Acts

STEPHEN'S APPLICATION OF EXODUS 1. He
demonstrated Israel's unbelief a) Acts 739
"..our fathers..would not obey..." 2. Then he
showed his generation was no different from the
exodus generation! a) Acts 751-60 "You
stiff-necked..." b) They killed Him
(Stephen)! 3. And--Neither is ours today any
different!

"Moses...refused...to be called ...the son of
Pharaoh's daughter...choosing..." 2. Jesus said

THE PASSOVER LAMB--A Type of Christ! (Exo.
1223ff) 1 Cor 57 For indeed Christ, our
Passover, was sacrificed for us. 1 Peter
118-19 18 You know that you were ransomed from
the futile ways inherited from your fathers, not
with perishable things such as silver or gold,
19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like
that of a lamb without blemish or spot.

RED SEA Crossing--Type of Baptism! (Exo.
1421ff) 1 Cor 101-2 I want you to know,
brethren, that our fathers were all under the
cloud, and all passed through the sea, 2 and all
were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the
sea, This "Crossing" demonstrates the "mode" of
baptism cf. Rom.64 "...therefore...we were
BURIED with Him by baptism into
death...raised..."

MANNA--Type of Christ! (Exo. 1615ff) John
648-51 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your
fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are
dead. 50 This is the bread which comes down from
heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I
am the living bread which came down from heaven.
If anyone eats of this bread, he will live
forever and the bread that I shall give is My
flesh, which I shall give for the life of the
world."

WATER FROM A ROCK--A Type of Christ! (Exo.
176f) 1 Cor 104 "And all drank the same
spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual
Rock that followed them, and that Rock was
Christ. CHRIST WAS ACTIVE IN THE O. T.!!! Heb
1125-26 25 Choosing rather to share
ill-treatment with the people of God than to
enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He
considered abuse suffered for the Christ greater
wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he looked
to the reward.

ISRAEL'S PRIESTS--Type of Christians! (Exo.
1920ff) 1 Peter 25 You also, as living
stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a
holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices
acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. The
Priesthood--Type Christ's Priesthood. Heb 415
For we have not an high priest which cannot be
touched with the feeling of our infirmities but
was in all points tempted like as we are, yet
without sin.

The Tabernacle--Type of Church Age! (Exo.
258ff) Heb 923-25 23 It was necessary, then,
for the copies of the heavenly things to be
purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly
things themselves with better sacrifices than
these. 24 For Christ did not enter a man-made
sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one
he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in
God's presence. 25 Nor did he enter heaven to
offer himself again and again, the way the high
priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with
blood that is not his own.

VAIL of Tabernacle--Type of Christ! (Exo. 2633
Matt. 2751) Heb 1019-20 19 Therefore,
brothers, since we have confidence to enter the
Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a
new and living way opened for us through the
curtain, that is, his body...

"DELIVER" YOU FROM THE BONDAGE OF SIN AND MAKE
HEAVEN AVAILABLE TO YOU!

BUT HELL IS REAL ALSO-- IT IS THE ONLY
ALTERNATIVE! AND--THE LORD HAS SAID "YOU
CHOOSE"!
