Title: Luke 22:1416, 1820 KJV
1Luke 2214-16, 18-20 (KJV) 14 And when the hour
was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles
with him. 15 And he said unto them, With desire I
have desired to eat this passover with you before
I suffer 16 For I say unto you, I will not any
more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the
kingdom of God.
218 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the
fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall
come. 19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and
brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my
body which is given for you this do in
remembrance of me. 20 Likewise also the cup after
supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in
my blood, which is shed for you.

4Mark 162-3 (NLT) Very early in the morning, on
the first day of the week, they came to the tomb
when the sun had risen. 3 And they said among
themselves, Who will roll away the stone from
the door of the tomb for us?
5I Cor 310-13 (NLT) 10 Because of God's special
favor to me, I have laid the foundation like an
expert builder. Now others are building on it.
But whoever is building on this foundation must
be very careful. 11 For no one can lay any other
foundation than the one we already have--Jesus
Christ.
612 Now anyone who builds on that foundation may
use gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. 13
But there is going to come a time of testing at
the judgment day to see what kind of work each
builder has done. Everyone's work will be put
through the fire to see whether or not it keeps
its value.
7I Cor 1514 (NLT) And if Christ was not raised,
then all our preaching is useless, and your trust
in God is useless.
8Who are you following?
Following Jesus is the beginning of a great life!
9Matt 419-22 (NLT) 19 Jesus called out to them,
"Come, be my disciples, and I will show you how
to fish for people!" 20 And they left their nets
at once and went with him. 21 A little farther up
the shore he saw two other brothers, James and
John, sitting in a boat with their father,
Zebedee, mending their nets.
10And he called them to come, too. 22 They
immediately followed him, leaving the boat and
their father behind.
11II Cor 517 (NLT) What this means is that those
who become Christians become new persons. They
are not the same anymore, for the old life is
gone. A new life has begun!
12Col. 31, 5-10 (NLT) 1 Since you have been
raised to new life with Christ, set your sights
on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits at
God's right hand in the place of honor and power.
135 So put to death the sinful, earthly things
lurking within you. Have nothing to do with
sexual sin, impurity, lust, and shameful desires.
Don't be greedy for the good things of this life,
for that is idolatry. 6 God's terrible anger will
come upon those who do such things.
147 You used to do them when your life was still
part of this world. 8 But now is the time to get
rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander,
and dirty language. 9 Don't lie to each other,
for you have stripped off your old evil nature
and all its wicked deeds.
1510 In its place you have clothed yourselves with
a brand-new nature that is continually being
renewed as you learn more and more about Christ,
who created this new nature within you.
16Hows that OLD LIFE working For you?
17What do I gain by following Jesus?
Purpose!
Forgiveness!
18Col. 213-14 (NLT) 13 You were dead because of
your sins and because your sinful nature was not
yet cut away. Then God made you alive with
Christ. He forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled
the record that contained the charges against us.
He took it and destroyed it by nailing it to
Christ's cross.
19Romans 721-25 (NLT) 21 It seems to be a fact of
life that when I want to do what is right, I
inevitably do what is wrong. 22 I love God's law
with all my heart. 23 But there is another law at
work within me that is at war with my mind. This
law wins the fight and makes me a slave to the
sin that is still within me.
2024 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed
the passions and desires of their sinful nature
to his cross and crucified them there. 25 If we
are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow
the Holy Spirit's leading in every part of our
lives.
21Gal 51 (NLT) 1 So Christ has really set us
free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don't
get tied up again in slavery to the law.
22Gal 516-17 (NLT) 16 So I advise you to live
according to your new life in the Holy Spirit.
Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature
craves.
2317 The old sinful nature loves to do evil, which
is just opposite from what the Holy Spirit wants.
And the Spirit gives us desires that are opposite
from what the sinful nature desires. These two
forces are constantly fighting each other, and
your choices are never free from this conflict.
24Gal 519-21 (NLT) 19 When you follow the desires
of your sinful nature, your lives will produce
these evil results sexual immorality, impure
thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, 20
idolatry, participation in demonic activities,
hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of
anger, selfish ambition,
25divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong
except those in your own little group, 21 envy,
drunkenness, wild parties, and other kinds of
sin. Let me tell you again, as I have before,
that anyone living that sort of life will not
inherit the Kingdom of God.
26Gal 522-25 (NLT) 22 But when the Holy Spirit
controls our lives, he will produce this kind of
fruit in us love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness,
and self-control. Here there is no conflict with
the law.
2724 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed
the passions and desires of their sinful nature
to his cross and crucified them there. 25 If we
are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow
the Holy Spirit's leading in every part of our
lives.
28What do I gain by following Jesus?

Eternal Life!
29Ecc 311 (NLT) 11 God has made everything
beautiful for its own time. He has planted
eternity in the human heart, but even so, people
cannot see the whole scope of God's work from
beginning to end God has planted eternity in
every human heart
30John 316 (NLT) For God so loved the world that
he gave his only Son, so that everyone who
believes in him will not perish but have eternal
life.
31John 112-13 (NLT) 12But to all who believed
him and accepted him, he gave the right to become
children of God. 13They are reborn! This is not a
physical birth resulting from human passion or
plan--this rebirth comes from God.
32John 33 (NLT) Jesus replied, "I assure you,
unless you are born again, you can never see the
Kingdom of God."
