3History
- St. Clare Home began in 1909 when the Daughters
of the Holy Spirit settled in Newport. We began
as a visiting nurse program and have evolved into
the skilled nursing facility that we are today.
As an agency of the Roman Catholic Diocese of
Providence, we care for 47 men and women, taking
into account not only their medical needs, but
their social and spiritual needs as well.

today. We invite everyone to join us as we
