Fuel Spills and Mishaps

  • Eliminate any ignition sources
  • Shut off truck, cell phone (why?)
  • Clean your spill up promptly
  • Obtain additional help for the clean up as
    necessary

    contribute to the ignition or expansion of a fire
  • Keep area clear, maintain access to the area in
    the event there is a need for outside response
    equipment (spill contractor or fire department)

  • Notify others immediately!
  • Call for outside assistance?
  • Retrieve a fire extinguisher
  • Assess the situation
  • Should you use the extinguisher?
  • If so, continually evaluate the need to evacuate
    for your personal safety
