MDS4 Introduction

• Monitoring and Discovery System
• Discovery what resources are out there?
• Monitoring whats the state of those resources?
• Services
• Index service
• aggregates and publishes information from
  multiple sources
• Clients use standard resource property queries to
  get information from the index
• Trigger service
• aggregates information and executes a trigger
  when that information meets certain criteria

Aggregator Framework

• Component used by the Index and Trigger services.
• Uses an aggregator source to collect information
• A class that implements the AggregatorSource
  interface
• Sources exist that do resource property queries,
  use subscription/notification, and execute
  programs to get information.
• Service group registrations determine what
  aggregator sources will be used, and what
  parameters will be passed to them.
• Uses an aggregator sink to process information
• A class that implements the AggregatorSink
  interface
• Aggregator sink determines which service it is.
• Currently, trigger and index sinks exist.
