Title: The Power of the Blessing

1
The Power of the Blessing
2
  • "The Lord bless you and keep you  The Lord make
His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And
give you peace." ' Num 624-26 (NKJV)

3
  •  Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the
law, having become a curse for us (for it is
written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"
),  that the blessing of Abraham might come upon
the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might
receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
    Gal 313-14 (NKJV)

4
  • History of the Blessing in the Bible.
  • God told Adam to
  • A. Be fruitful and multiply
  • B. Subdue the earth
  • C. Take dominion

5
  • When the righteous are in authority, the people
rejoice But when a wicked man rules, the people
    groan. Prov 292 (NKJV)

6
  • The second blessing spoken of in scripture is
    found in Genesis 12.
  • I will bless those who bless you, And I will
curse him who curses you And in you all the
families of the earth shall be blessed." Gen 123
    (NKJV)

7
  • This is why the United States MUST support Israel
    at all costs!
  • They are still Gods CHOSEN PEOPLE.

8
  • Jesus modeled the need to speak blessing.
  • In the Sermon on the Mount he spoke nine.

9
  • Blessed are the poor in spirit
  • those who mourn
  • hunger, thirst after righteousness
  • merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers
  • and those who are persecuted

10
  •  One day some parents brought their children to
Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the
disciples scolded the parents for bothering
him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was
angry with his disciples. He said to them, Let
the children come to me. Dont stop them! For the
Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like
these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who
doesnt receive the Kingdom of God like a child
will never enter it. Then he took the children
in his arms and placed his hands on their heads
and blessed them. Mark 1013-16 (NLT)

11
  • And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He
lifted up His hands and blessed them.  Now it
came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was
parted from them and carried up into heaven. Luke
    2450-51 (NKJV)

12
  • So if one of the first things and last things
Jesus did was to bless, shouldnt we follow His
    example?

13
  • The Blessing in spiritual warfare
  • Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow,
an undeserved curse will not land on its intended
    victim. Prov 262 (NLT)

14
  • The power and permanence of the blessing.
  • Once the blessing is spoken into existence it
    cannot be broken by men

15
  • In Genesis 27 we read of Isaac blessing Jacob,
    who had deceived him.
  • He told Esau that he could not rescind the
    blessing that had been spoken.

16
  • Over and over the Bible is clear on the need to
    bless.
  • For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and
creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed
by mankind.  But no man can tame the tongue. It
is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.  With
it we bless our God and Father, and with it we
curse men, who have been made in the similitude
of God.  Out of the same mouth proceed blessing
and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not
to be so.  Does a spring send forth fresh water
and bitter from the same opening? 1 James 37-12
    (NKJV)

17
  • Look at 30 things the bible says we can say in
    blessing to others.

open for you the windows of heaven And pour out
for you such blessing That there will not be room
enough to receive it. Mal 310 (NKJV)

19
  • 3. God make his angels go with you.
  • The angel of the Lord encamps all around those
who fear Him, And delivers them. Psalms 347
    (NKJV)

20
  • 4. God give you assurance of His love.
  •  These things I have written to you who believe
in the name of the Son of God, that you may know
that you have eternal life, and that you may
continue to believe in the name of the Son of
    God. 1 John 513 (NKJV)
