Mark 435-41

• 35 On that day, when evening came, He said to
  them, "Let us go over to the other side." 36
  Leaving the crowd, they took Him along with them
  in the boat, just as He was and other boats were
  with Him. 37 And there arose a fierce gale of
  wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat
  so much that the boat was already filling up.

• 38 Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the
  cushion and they woke Him and said to Him,
  "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?"
  39 And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to
  the sea, "Hush, be still." And the wind died down
  and it became perfectly calm. 40 And He said to
  them, "Why are you afraid? Do you still have no
  faith?" 41They became very much afraid and said
  to one another, "Who then is this, that even the
  wind and the sea obey Him?"

The Point of the Message

• Jesus not only wants to see us through the
  storm-----He wants us to learn to exercise
  spiritual authority and walk in Faith.

Jesus is in our boat

• The disciples were in the right place.
•  Jesus was with them..in spite of the storm.
•  No matter what you are going through Jesus is
  right there with you.
•  Jesus can still the storm, but He also wants
  us to learn how to speak the Word and exercise
  spiritual authority.
•  (Insight) Jesus was asleep, but that did not
  mean He didnt care.

• When we begin to recognize and exercise the
  spiritual authority we have in Jesus Christ, ...
  things will begin to change in our lives.

Face Your Fears

• Two different words for afraid.
• Verse 40 Jesus said, Why are you afraid? How
  is it you have no faith?
• i.e. to be a coward
• Verse 41 They became very much afraid
• to have reverence.awe and wonder.

• When our eyes are opened and we begin to see the
  awesome power of Jesus our faith will begin to
  move to new heights.

The Culture of Me

• Its all about Mewhat I want and when I want
  it.
• You should be there for Me.
• I expect it..I deserve it ---its my RIGHT!
• We (people) want Jesus (the Church and people in
  the Church) to be there---whenever we need or
  want them to fix things for us.

.Entrusted With Dominion

• Genesis 126 28
• Man was created in Gods image not so much
  physically, but in Personality Character.
• Out of His Divine Image. flows Divine Authority
  (Dominion Rule).
• Rule (Dominion) is both natural and moral.
  Man, as Gods representative, was/is to rule
  the earth.

The Progression of Dominion

• Genesis 126 28, man was given Dominion
• Not given to Noah (Genesis 91)
• Psalm 86-8
• Dominion restored in and through Christ (Hebrews
  28).
• Based on His authority and dominion, Jesus
  declared Kingdom Rule to believers in the
  Great Commission. Matt. 2818-20

The Truth Made Real

• Jesus will never leave you or forsake you.
• He does care
• He knows what is happening and He know s what He
  is going to do about it.
• Nothing that comes into our lives that is a
  surprise to Jesus.
• Start exercising your faithbegin to speak to
  the storm. Jesus will honor your faith.
