What Jesus Offers You
3
Remember first that...
  • GOD IS CREATOR
  • In the beginning,
  • God created the heavens and the earth
  • Genesis 11

4
And also . . .
  • He spoke and it was done.
  • He commanded and it stood fast
  • Psalm 339

5
Consider God . . .
  • HE MADE US
  • So God created humankind in his image,
  • in the image of God he created them
  • male and female he created them.
  • Genesis 127, NRSV

6
Therefore, God is . . .
  • WORTHY OF PRAISE
  • God who gives life to all things . . . who alone
    possesses immortality and dwells in
unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can
see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.
  • 1Timothy 613-16

7
Why do we need God . . . . . and the offer of
Jesus?

8
Consider Us. . .
  • ALL OF US HAVE SINNED
  • It is written None is righteous, no, not even
one... All have sinned and fall short of the
    glory of God.
  • Romans 310, 23

9
Consider Us . . .
  • EVERY PERSON
  • All have sinned
  • and fall short of the glory of God.
  • Romans 310

10
Consider Us . . .
  • WE EACH HAVE SINNED
  • Even though sin came into the world through one
man and death through sin, . . . death spread to
all men because all men sinned.
  • Romans 512

11
Consider Us . . .
  • YOU
  • All have swerved from the right path
  • Every one of them
  • Romans 312, MNT

12
Consider Us . . .
  • AND ME
  • If we say, "We have no sin," we are deceiving
ourselves and the truth is not in us. . .
  • If we say, "We have not sinned, we are making
    God a liar.
  • 1John 18,10, MNT

13
Sin scars us all . . .
  • Your sins have come between you and your God,
and by your evil doings his face has been veiled
    from you.
  • Isaiah 592 (BBE)

14
So what can we do?
  • ANY HOPE IN SIN?
  • The wages of sin is death. . . There will be
wrath and indignation. There will be tribulation
and distress for every soul of man who does evil,
of the Jew first and also of the Greek.
  • Romans 623a, 28-9

15
So what can we do?
  • We HAVE NO HOPE AND ARE WITHOUT GOD IN THE
    WORLD.
  • Ephesians 212

16
We have not lived without sin and we cannot save
ourselves.
17
But God . . .
  • IS RICH IN MERCY
  • But God, being rich in mercy, because of His
great love with which He loved us, even when we
were dead in our transgressions. .
  • Ephesians 24

18
But God . . .
  • IS RICH IN LOVE
  • He demonstrates His own love toward us, in that
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
  • Romans 58

19
God . . .
  • IS RIGHTEOUS
  • He set forth Christ Jesus to be an atoning
sacrifice through faith in His blood, for a
demonstration of Gods righteousness through the
passing over of prior sins, in His forbearance
to demonstrate His righteousness at this present
time that He might Himself be just, and the
justifier of him who has faith in Jesus
  • Romans 325-26

20
God . . .
  • OUT OF LOVE FOR US . .
  • He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish, but have
    eternal life.
  • John 316

21
You See, God . . .
  • Had already dreamed how He would save humanity .
    . .
  • Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual
blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just
as He chose us in Him before the foundation of
the world, that we would be holy and blameless
    before Him. . . In love . . . He made known . . .
His purpose in Him with a view to . . . summing
up of all things in Christ
  • Ephesians 13-10

22
You See, God . . .
  • Had already predetermined how He would accomplish
    it
  • Jesus the Nazarene was delivered over by the
predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you
nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and
put Him to death. But God raised Him up again,
putting an end to the agony of death. God has
made Him both Lord and Christ--
    this Jesus whom you crucified."
  • Acts 214-40

23
God Makes Us Alive
  • Only through Christ can we come to the Father
  • Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and
the life no one comes to the Father but through
    Me.
  • John 146

24
God Makes Us Alive
  • Only through Christ is salvation found
  • "And there is salvation in no one else for there
is no other name under heaven that has been given
among men by which we must be saved.
  • Acts 412

25
By GraceYou Can Be Saved . . .
  • We cannot stand on our own merits.
  • We have all become like one who is unclean, and
all our righteous deeds are like a polluted
    garment.
  • Isaiah 646 NRSV

26
By Grace You Can Be Saved . . .
  • We cannot earn salvation.
  • No one will be justified by the works of the
    law.
  • Galatians 216, NRSV

27
By Grace You Can Be Saved . . .
  • But God offers by His Grace the only means by
which you and I can be saved - Jesus Christ.

28
Through Faith . . .
  • We must accept God at His word.
  • And without faith it is impossible to please
Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He
is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek
    Him.
  • Hebrews 116

29
Through Faith . . .
  • We must believe.
  • These Scriptures have been written so that you
may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of
God and that believing you may have life in His
    name.
  • John 2031

30
Through Faith . . .
  • We must act.
  • "He who believes in the Son has eternal life but
he who does not obey the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God abides on him."
  • John 336

31
Peter Said . . .
  • To the People on Pentecost . . .
  • "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name
of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins
and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
For the promise is for you and your children and
for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our
God will call to Himself." He...kept on exhorting
them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse
    generation!"
  • Acts 238

32
Peter Said . . .
  • To the People in the Temple . . .
  • "Therefore repent and return, so that your sins
may be wiped away, in order that times of
refreshing may come from the presence of the
Lord for there is salvation in no one else for
there is no other name under heaven that has been
given among men by which we must be saved.

one can refuse the water for these to be baptized
. . ., can he? And he ordered them to be

  • preached Jesus to him. As they . . . came to
some water, the eunuch said, "Look! Water! What

"If you believe with all your heart, you may."
And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus
Christ is the Son of God." . . . they both went
down into the water, and he baptized him.
  • Acts 826-40

36
Annanias said . . .
  • To Saul of Tarsus . . .
  • "The God of our fathers has appointed you to know
His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear
an utterance from His mouth. 'For you will be

    on His name.

37
Paul the Apostle . . .
