Lay Ministry Mission

• Mission Statement
• The purpose of Lay Ministry is to support the
  Pastor in providing Christ care to member
  families.
• Defining Scripture
• Galatians 610 - So then, while we have
  opportunity, let us do good to all people, and
  especially to those who are of the household of
  faith.

Lay Ministry Goals

• Members are encouraged to grow in their
  relationship with Christ Jesus as a result of the
  caring efforts of LMs. (Discipleship)
• Congregation members will be able to share
  Christs love with others within and outside the
  church because, through LMs, Christs love was
  shared with them. (Outreach)
• Members will grow in the number and depth of
  relationships through involvement with LMs.
  (Relationships)
• Members of all ages will know they are cared for
  through the efforts of LMs. (Diversity)

• Started at Our Father since 2000.
• Formed out of Elder group
• Assistant Ministers
• Lay Ministers.
• 25 LMs to begin currently, there are 37 LM
  entities (includes couples) need to add 15 more).

• LM training is continuous
• Initial training for new LMs

• Any cost for training is part of Lay Ministry
  budget.
