French lessons at Alliance Française
? French lessons sponsored by the Embassy of
France and the Alliances Françaises are offered
to FEAST-France Members (researchers, research
managers, other professionals, PhD students...).
(Two students at Alliance Française of
Adelaide) ? Two thirds of the cost are paid by
the Embassy of France. You have to pay one third
of the cost, i.e. between 230 and 280 for a 50
or 60-hour course (depending on the Alliance

Technical information
Universities Involved ? All French universities,
under national regulations. ? Most of the major
Australian universities (in SA, 1 cotutelle at
UNISA), each university having its own
regulations.
Tuition fees ? In the frame of Cotutelle, the PhD
student is exempted from paying registration fees
at one institution. ? He (she) pays fees only at
his (her) home institution. ? Amendment 1 of the
guidelines for CGS, 01/01/05.

The national French support
? From 1995 to 2004 1041 cotutelles with 69
countries have been supported by the French
Ministry of Research for a total amount of about
5.5 millions . These figures do not take into
account the support from International Division
of Ministry of Education and from the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs
? From 2002 Cotutelles are more and more part of
the the 4-year grants system between
universities and Ministry of Education and
Research
