  • You must collect some primary material related to
    your Special Subject
  • You will be expected to argue / discuss / debate
    this material with ARTH, and in front of other
    Oxbridge candidates

JTC what is expected
  • You will be given guided reading on the topic of
    What is History

GES what is expected
  • Your talk(s) must address a question / problem
  • Having given your talk - and having received
    questions - you must write it up so that it can
    be published on the History Department website
  • It is worth bearing in mind that there are
    various History essay competitions which you may
    consider entering.

  • AEA ( Advanced Extension Award) preparation.

  • Decide upon your Special Topic over Half Term
  • Meet with GES directly after Half Term
  • GES will then attach you to someone in the
    Department who has expertise in your Special
    Subject area and who will guide you in the
    initial stages of your research / reading.
