TCCi Naviance
  • A Web-based service designed especially for
    students and parents. Family Connection is a
    comprehensive website that you can use to help in
    making decisions about courses, colleges, and
    careers.

  • Family Connection will allow you to
  • Get involved in the planning and advising process
    Build a resume, complete on-line surveys, and
    manage timelines and deadlines for making
    decisions about colleges and careers.
  • Research colleges Compare GPA, standardized
    test scores, and other statistics to actual
    historical data from our school for students who
    have applied and been admitted in the past
  • Family Connection also lets us share information
    with you about up-coming meetings and events,
    local scholarship opportunities, and other Web
    resources for college and career information. You
    can also use the site to send us an e-mail
    message.
  • We will provide you with a personal access code
    and instructions for accessing Family Connection.
    You will use that code to create your own Family
    Connection account. These codes may be picked up
    from your childs counselor.

North Hunterdon High SchoolTranscript Release
Form
  • Forms can be picked up in the guidance office.
  • In order to complete the form you will need to
    provide the following information
  • Student Name, ID and date of graduation
  • Name and address of the college the transcript is
    being sent to
  • Deadline for the transcript to be sent
  • Signature of a parent/guardian if the student is
    under 18 years of age
  • Class rank will not be included on the
    transcript. If you are applying for a
    scholarship and need class rank, a letter must be
    written to Mrs. Josephine McCaffrey, Director of
    Guidance stating the name of the scholarship and
    signed by parents.

Autumn Tasks for Seniors
  • There are some things that you will need to
    accomplish this fall. These will help insure
    that you are prepared for graduation and for
    plans after high school. They include
  • Deciding on your path after high school
    working, two year schools, vocational schools or
    four year universities.
  • Attending college fairs.
  • Receiving college applications and sending them
    out.
  • Visiting schools that are a priority.
  • Narrowing down your choices for after high school
    plans.
  • Reviewing your transcript with your counselor to
    see that it is accurate.
  • Taking the SATs.
  • Talking with teachers who will provide you with a
    recommendation.
  • Thinking about your college essay.
  • Making you perform well academically throughout
    the whole year.
  • Preparing your resume of activities, jobs, etc.
  • Breathing deeply!

College Application ProceduresStudent
Responsibilities
  • Obtain applications.
  • If teacher recommendations are required, give
    teachers any required forms and stamped envelopes
    addressed to the college. Request that teachers
    mail them directly to the colleges by the
    deadlines.
  • Carefully complete all parts of the applications
    and mail them to the colleges with application
    fees.
  • Request an appointment with your counselor.
  • Arrive at appointment with a completed transcript
    release form, an addressed envelope, and any
    counselor secondary school reports that may be
    required for each college. All materials must be
    handed to your counselor directly.
  • Inform your counselor of colleges decision
    (accepted, not accepted, wait-listed) as they
    come in.
  • By May, inform your counselor of the school you
    will be attending so that a final transcript may
    be sent in July.

College Application ProcessCounselor
Responsibilities
  • Counselor will complete a secondary school report
    if provided and a counselor recommendation, if
    requested in advance. (Junior packets must be
    filled in order for a recommendation to be
    completed).
  • Students transcripts and a NHHS profile will be
    mailed to colleges.
  • Seventh semester reports will be mailed to each
    college to which the student has applied.

Please note
NHHS will submit six (6) transcripts to the
colleges of your choice free of charge. Students
will be billed in June for any additional
transcripts at the rate of 2.00 per school.
The Guidance Office will need 10 business days
in order to receive the request for a transcript,
process it and send it out. Be aware of school
vacations and holidays and school deadlines.
