CHAs - What are they?

• Organized groups of Christian religion/faith
  complementarily providing health services between
  30 and 60 in African Countries.

Why do CHAs exists?

• To provide health services in the fulfillment of
  Christ directive
• To complement the efforts of governments
• To reach rural remote areas and poorest of the
  poor
• To collaborate with Education to promote
  universal education

CHAs - What good do they do?

• CHAs complement governments in achieving the
  health for its population and MDGs
• CHAs have built health facilities, deployed
  health personnel for providing health services
• Technical Working Groups to coordinate policies
  for specific areas, e.g., HRH

All about CSSC

• CSSC includes 85 dioceses and churches with 88
  hospitals and 733 other health facilities. This
  includes 2 consultant and teaching hospitals,
  more than 22 paramedical training schools
• CSSC manages 35 of health facilities and human
  resources and 56 for rural health services, with
  41.5 of beds and 17.7 of total nr of health
  facilities in Tanzania.
