members of club board
3Duties of a General Board Member
- General Duties
- Work as a team to run an amazing organization
- Care for the members and act in their interest
- Plan service projects, foster leadership,
organize socials, and put on special events - Set an example as an exceptional member of Circle
K
4Duties of a General Board Member
- Attend Meetings
- Executive board (if on Eboard) at least 4
hours/month - Board 2-4 hours/week
- General 1.5-2 hours/week
- Committee meetings Run your own and support at
least 2 other chairs consistently - Kiwanis Key Club Meetings
- Attend Service Projects
- At least 1 service project/week
- Each chair should reach Platinum MRP (200 service
hours/year)

- Attend Socials
- Go to as many socials as possible to get to know
the members! - Administrative Work
- Plan projects
- Contacting coordinators
- Arranging rides directions
- Make phone call and email reminders
- Take responsibility for volunteers
- File Event Report Forms

- 3 hours board meeting
- 1.5 hours general meeting
- 3.5 hours committee meetings
- 5 hours projects events
- 3 hours administrative work
- 16 hours minimum!
- Commitment of up to 40 hours during busy weeks

8Spirit Social Chair
- Creates monthly social events and builds club
unity through cheers. -

9Single Service Chair
- Creates one large scale service project each
semester which focuses on the current District
Service Initiatives. The chair also has the
optional of holding a summer single service
project. -
- Responsibilities
-
- -Works with Committee to produce ideas for the
single service project of the semester. - -Receive donations.
- -Apply to grants.
- -Construct materials for the event.
10Kiwanis Family Chair
- Is responsible for relations with our Berkeley
Kiwanians as well as our nearby Key Clubs. The
Kiwanis Family Chair makes various interclub
events throughout the year that enables us to
have stronger Kiwanis Family relations. -
- Major Events
- -Kiwanis Take Over -Thanksgiving Dinner -Holiday
Auction - -Monthly Kiwanis Family Socials -Camp Cazadero
- Responsibilities
- Attend Kiwanis Meetings in order to update them
of Circle Ks current events and progress.
Tuesdays from 1230pm-130pm - Attend Berkeley and Oakland Tech. Key Club
Meetings Tuesdays and Thursdays - Invite Berkeley Kiwanians and Key Clubbers to
events in order to create interclub events.
11MDE Chair
- Responsible for creating events which educate
new and current members about the Ins and Outs of
Circle K International. Implements fun and
innovative club activities. Continuously looks to
improve member retention. -
- Responsibilities

- -Family System
- -Fall and Spring New Member Orientation
12MRP Chair
- In charge of recognizing and awarding members
based on their involvement within the club. Keeps
track of the number of service hours and events
each member participates in. -
- Responsibilities

- -Gives monthly summaries of MRP Reports.
- -Update the online MRP Reports.
- -Gives award incentives based on a bronze,
silver, gold and platinum level system. - -Recognizes the Member of the Week and Member of
the Month. - -In charge of Calvin and his passport and other
member incentives
13Fundraising Chair
- In charge of creating monthly fundraising
events that raise money for our district and
international fundraising charities. -
- Must allocate and organize fundraised money to
different charity organizations. -
- Major Events

14Project Coordinator
- Produces monthly service projects and keeps in
constant contact with Bay Area volunteer
coordinators. -
- Responsibilities

- -Finds new and continuous service projects.
- -In charge of our Chair a Project Program where
new members have the opportunity to organize a
volunteer event. -
- Major Events

- -Chaparral House -Hands on Science
- -Special Needs Aquatic Program (SNAP)
- -Bay Area Rescue Mission -Saint Vincent De Paul
15Scrapbook Chair
- Works with the committee in producing a club
scrapbook for District Convention. -
- Responsibilities
-
- -Must decide whether to produce a Traditional or
Non-Traditional club scrapbook. - -Produce a theme for the scrapbook.
- -Organize the construction and framework of the
scrapbook. - -Must organize and order photos from all events
within the Circle K year. - -Creatively include aspects of Service,
Leadership, and Fellowship. - -Collect event and club memorabilia and include
within the scrapbook.
16Newsletter Chair
- Produces a monthly newsletter which includes a
summary of the clubs activities. -
- Responsibilities
-
- -Produce an informative and interesting club
publication. - -Organize and collect photos for articles.
- -Collect written articles from members and
officers who participated in social and service
events. - -Produce a wide variety of different activities
and information within the newsletter. (Comics,
cooking recipes, Q and A etc.)
17Public Relations Chair
- Constantly works to increase publicity of our
Circle K club in the Berkeley campus and
community. -
- Responsibilities
-
- -Contact other organizations and update them on
important Circle K events. - -Produce both the Fall and Spring Study A Thon.
- -Visit nearby restaurants and businesses for
donations. - -Organize Circle K Week in November.
- -Produces and Directs the Fall Training
Conference Club Video. - -Responsible for updating our Circle K Sign under
Sather Gate. - -Produces a large scale publicity event in the
Spring, open to the Berkeley Community and
Campus. - -Responsible for Berkeley Circle K at all
University events
18Webmaster
- Updates the club website in every aspect
including themed design, resources, slideshow,
general meeting information, new members of the
month and week, and event spotlights. -
- Responsibilities
-
- -Perform frequent website check ups.
- -Update all necessary information and features
every week. - -Create a new layout and design for the website
that corresponds to the new club theme. - -Promote Berkeley Circle K club events and reach
out to other district and divisional clubs. - -Constantly create features in the website that
promote Kiwanis Family, Member education, and
District/Divisional education. - -Provide interesting and innovative media (Video,
pictures, comics etc.)
