the Bible. - We learned that the Bible is a history of Gods
plan of salvation from Adam to Christ.

have the law, do by nature things required by the
law, they are a law for themselves, even though
they do not have the law, 15 since they show that
the requirements of the law are written on their
hearts, their consciences also bearing witness,
and their thoughts now accusing, now even
defending them.)

79The Third Commandment
- Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
80The Sabbath
Sabbath Keep holy
Rest
Set apart for God
Colossians 216,17 Therefore do not let anyone
judge you by what you eat or drink, or with
regard to a religious festival, a New Moon
celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow
of the things that were to come the reality,
however, is found in Christ.
Matthew 1128,29 Come to me, all you who are
weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am
gentle and humble in heart, and you will find
rest for your souls.
Matthew 92 Some men brought to him a paralytic,
lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he
said to the paralytic, Take heart, son your
sins are forgiven.
81The Sabbath
Sabbath Keep holy
Rest
Set apart for God
Old Testament believers were to set apart the
seventh day (Saturday) and New Testament
believers are given the freedom to choose any
day. Because of Christs resurrection, the first
day (Sunday) was chosen. The Old Testament
Sabbath was a shadow, or symbol, pointing ahead
to the spiritual rest Jesus brought by the
forgiveness of sins. So we, in our freedom and
thankfulness, honor the Lords Day and His Word
as God instructs us.

distracted by all the preparations that had to be
made. She came to him and asked, Lord, dont you
care that my sister has left me to do the work by
myself? Tell her to help me! 41 Martha,
Martha, the Lord answered, you are worried and
upset about many things, 42 but only one thing is
needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it
will not be taken away from her.
