7The Author of the Pentateuch
- Although the Pentateuch does not directly name
its author in all its books, it is proven that
Moses is the author. This prove is through
internal and external evidence
8The Author of the Pentateuch
- Internal Evidence such as
- It is clear that the author must have been an
eyewitness of most of the events. - The Author is an educated man
- It is stated several times in different books
that God inspired Moses with these books - Some books clearly claimed that Moses wrote them
- Geographical and historical details indicate a
firsthand knowledge.
9The Author of the Pentateuch

to Moses - The Testimony of Jesus
- Jewish and Samaritan traditions consistently hold
to the Mosaic authorship of the Pentateuch.

the Bible in fact, it covers more than all the
other books of the Bible put together.

Joseph 1804 B.C.
11The Time of Exodus

journey, between 1445 B.C. and 1405 B.C. - Exodus covers the period from the arrival of
Jacob in Egypt to the building of the tabernacle

14The Time of Deuteronomy
- Like Leviticus, Deuteronomy does not progress
historically. - Deuteronomy takes place entirely on the plains of
Moab, east of Jordan River and Jericho - It covers about one month and it was written at
the end of the forty-year period in the
wilderness (1405 B.C.)
